About Us

It all started when .....

It is amazing what comes of idle chatter over a curry and the coming together of likeminded people! Especially with the rewards of growing your own produce, getting out in the fresh air, getting your children to grow their own plants, and of course help harvest it! having responsibility for a certain crop – be it tomatoes, sweet corn, potatoes or runner beans.

Getting organised

After two meetings early in the Summer of 2011, the Whitstone Allotment Group (WAG) have elected their Management Committee and adopted the WAG Constitution, the committee have also been actively discussing the contents of the Tenancy Agreement, so all the relevant paperwork exercises are well under way.

Social Networking

There is even a Facebook Page, set up by Gary (‘Whitstone Allotment Group’) with some members advertising their surplus plants. Watch this space...

Join Us

We currently have 15 full members of the WAG, with more people of the Parish interested in having their own allotment! So numbers are looking healthy. As part of the Membership package we will all be members of the South West Counties Allotment Association, if you have chance take a look at their website and associated useful links. Not only do they support the allotment tenants but they also support the private land owner or council in leasing land for allotments. Full Membreship - Included in the WAG full membership fee (£10.00 ) is £3.00 to cover the affiliation to the SWCAA. This includes public liability insurance and access to the members’ area of the SWCAA website with all its benefits
