Children and staff have returned to Acorns full of energy and enthusiasm for 2012. This Spring term sees even more places taken up, with our new Thursday morning sessions now fully booked! This is fantastic news for the pre-school. This has led us to consider opening for another morning session. The feelers have been put out and there seems to be much interest in Monday mornings. Lunch club would still be available, ensuring that should you wish to have a full days care, you are still able to do so. Please let us have your feedback! If you are interested in booking in your child, please give us a call. Also if you have an interest should we be able to open any other mornings, let us know. If we get enough interest, Monday morning sessions would start the first Monday back after the Easter holidays. We look forward to hearing from you.

Vacancy

We still have a vacancy to cover one hour lunch on Thursdays. This will increase to two hours after Easter to cover Mondays also. Candidates must be qualified to at least NVQ level 2 or CACHE 2 and be prepared to be fully CRB checked

About Us

The Acorns Playgroup is for children from 2 years old and is held in a new building in the grounds of Whitstone School on Monday to Friday between 12.30pm and 3.30pm during term time.

We are registered through Ofsted to offer 16 places from age 2 years up to pre-school age.

The entrance boasts a good sized foyer, complete with staff/disabled toilet, parents notice-board and cubby holes for the children to store wellies, coats etc. Through the security door the layout is open-plan, including a secure kitchen area, toilets and washbasins for the children plus two extra rooms for various uses. One of these rooms has been used as a sensory room.  Autumn saw the room filled with crunchy leaves and beautiful pictures which the children had painted. Much fun is had in this room, especially when the weather is really bad, however the children do get to spend time outside during most sessions
